About three weeks after reports emerged in the United States that Loney Walker would join the Denver Nuggets, it has become clear that his contract is temporary and contingent on his preseason performance. Initially believed to be a guaranteed deal, Walker's contract with Denver is now understood to be non-guaranteed, allowing the team to release him at any time during the preseason.

Meanwhile, in Spain, Real Madrid has expressed interest in Walker as a potential addition to their EuroLeague roster. Spanish journalist Sergio Vegas confirmed that Real Madrid wants Walker and is closely monitoring his situation with Denver. Gerard Sola, another reporter, stated that it is quite possible Walker could play for Real Madrid this season, emphasizing the club's vigilance regarding his contract status.

Walker previously held an NBA exit clause in his contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, valued at $2.2 million net, which expired in mid-July. However, Maccabi granted him an extension to continue seeking opportunities in the NBA, as he wished. Last EuroLeague season, Walker appeared in 28 games (starting 26), averaging 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, with a 35.1% three-point shooting percentage. In the Israeli Premier League, he played 13 regular-season games, averaging 15.6 points per game.
