Report: Karsen Edwards Close to Signing with Zalgiris
Karsen Edwards, who had been linked with Maccabi Tel Aviv, is now expected to sign with EuroLeague club Zalgiris Kaunas. Sports 5 reported on Saturday, June 13, 2026, that the Lithuanian team is in the final stages of negotiations with the guard, according to BasketNews editor-in-chief Donatas Urbonas.
Edwards would join Sainv Lli in the backcourt for a rebuilding Zalgiris side that lost long-time leader Sylvain Francisco, who left for ASVEL Villeurbanne. Edwards played last season for Virtus Bologna and departed when his contract ended.
Italian reports from about a week ago said Zalgiris offered him $2 million per season, a figure that likely pushed the move forward. Last summer, Edwards had already reached a $1.5 million-per-year agreement with Maccabi Tel Aviv, but his family’s pressure over the security situation prevented the transfer.
The 1.80-meter guard averaged 17.3 points and 2.3 assists per game this season, shooting 46.7% on two-pointers and 31.9% from three-point range. He ranked fifth in EuroLeague scoring.
