Kyle Edwards Signs With Chinese Basketball Team After Success in Israel

Kyle Edwards, the leading scorer in the Israeli Basketball Premier League over the past two seasons, is set to join the Liaoning Flying Leopards in China. Edwards, who averaged 19.5 points per game with Elitzur Netanya and 18.9 points with Hapoel HaEmek, had been linked to several top Israeli teams during the summer. However, reports from China now indicate he will continue his career in the Far East.

Before his time in Israel, Edwards, 27, was signed by Dijon in France in the summer of 2024. In the French league, he averaged 8.9 points per game with a 34% shooting rate, while in the EuroCup he improved to 11.5 points per game on 56% shooting, along with 2.5 rebounds and 3 assists. During his year and a half in the Israeli Winner League, Edwards was remarkably consistent, scoring at least 10 points in all but two games, a performance level he only matched in four of eight games at Dijon.

European clubs such as Villeurbanne and Monaco had also shown interest in Edwards, but his move to China marks a significant shift in his career trajectory. Standing 1.93 meters tall, Edwards has established himself as a prominent guard in Israel and is now embarking on a new chapter in the Chinese Basketball Association.
