Beit Jann Council Cancels Festival Featuring Eden Ben Zaken Over Violence Concerns

The Beit Jann local council canceled the "Yalla BaGalil" festival, scheduled to open on Monday and run through Tuesday, due to fears of violence and clashes. The decision was announced by Beit Jann Council Head, Attorney Naziya Dabbour, who emphasized the priority of public safety and preventing bloodshed. The festival was set to include performances by artists such as Eden Ben Zaken, Louie Ali, and The Revivo Project.

Dabbour explained that opposition to the event, particularly surrounding Eden Ben Zaken's participation, raised concerns that tensions could escalate into confrontations. He stated that while he respects everyone's right to support or oppose the event, including religious leaders and community sentiments, the real threat of conflict made it impossible to guarantee a peaceful festival.

He clarified that the move does not represent yielding to threats or setting a precedent for coercion, nor does it allow anyone to violate council decisions or infringe on others' rights. Dabbour expressed intent to reschedule the festival under conditions that ensure public safety and respect for all community members.
