Local Council Cancels Eden Ben Zaken Festival in Beit Jann Over Violence Concerns

The "Yalla BaGalil" festival in the local council of Beit Jann was abruptly canceled on Monday due to fears of clashes and violence. The event, scheduled to start that day and continue through Tuesday, was set to feature performances by Eden Ben Zaken, Louie Ali, and The Revivo Project among others. Beit Jann's council head, Attorney Nazih Dabour, announced the cancellation in the morning, citing serious concerns about potential confrontations during the festival.

Dabour emphasized his responsibility to protect all residents, both religious and secular, stating, "I cannot risk anyone's safety to prove a point." He described the decision as responsible and clarified it would not set a precedent for anyone to impose their will by force or violate council decisions. Dabour expressed his intention to reschedule the event under conditions that ensure public safety and respect everyone's rights.

Louie Ali confirmed receiving the cancellation notice but was unclear about the reasons. Representatives close to Eden Ben Zaken also acknowledged the cancellation.
