Small Claims Filed Against Eden Ben Zaken's Show After Netanyahu's Political Speech

Following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's brief speech at a concert by popular singer Eden Ben Zaken last Thursday at Menora Mivtachim Arena, legal complaints have emerged. On Sunday, two small claims lawsuits were filed in Tel Aviv against the production company "Eden Sarit Productions - Eden Ben Zaken." One plaintiff claimed the event was turned into an unwanted political campaign, stating they felt "forced" into political promotion.

The first lawsuit, demanding 1,000 shekels, was filed on behalf of three 14-year-old girls who purchased tickets for 497 shekels each, expecting a purely musical event. The suit alleges that Netanyahu's unexpected appearance transformed the concert into a political event without prior disclosure, which would have deterred them from buying tickets. It also cites heavy security causing traffic congestion and delays, negatively impacting the concert experience. The claim seeks a refund of the ticket cost plus compensation for distress and inconvenience.

A second lawsuit, also for 1,000 shekels, was filed by another ticket buyer who expressed shock that Ben Zaken "brought Bibi and made a political campaign ad during the concert," which was not advertised beforehand. The plaintiff said they left the concert early due to feeling coerced into unwanted political messaging.

Netanyahu and his wife attended the concert and were filmed in the VIP box. During his brief remarks, Netanyahu praised the Israeli people and the singer, emphasizing national strength and unity. The incident sparked calls to remove Ben Zaken from the TV show "The Voice," prompting Netanyahu to respond on Instagram against what he called "thought policing." The production company has not yet commented on the lawsuits.
