Yair Golan Unveils Plan to Combat Crime Surge in Arab Communities

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, is set to present a comprehensive plan to fight rising crime and violence in Arab society during a press conference in Nazareth on Monday. This initiative follows Golan's aggressive stance on personal security and his accusations of ongoing state neglect. Last week, Golan addressed the Arab public in Arabic, pledging to work towards changing the government to eradicate criminal organizations and restore safety to the streets. He blamed the current government for abandoning Arab residents and implementing policies that have worsened security conditions.

As part of his campaign, Golan shared a distressing video from a shooting incident in Sakhnin, capturing the cries of a young girl amid the gunfire. He said the footage illustrates the daily fear and trauma experienced by entire families. Golan emphasized that crime affects all layers of society, disrupting daily life for professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, teachers, engineers, and transportation workers, many of whom fear leaving their homes after dark. He described this situation not as fate but as an intolerable reality that Israeli citizens face every day.
