Yair Golan Visits Arab Town, Criticizes Government Over Crime Wave

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, visited the Arab Israeli town of Qalansawe during his election campaign, describing the personal security situation there as "unbearable." He met with residents amidst a surge in crime and violence affecting the community.

Golan pledged to fundamentally change the reality for Arab citizens after the elections, enabling them to live without fear. One resident showed Golan security cameras around his home, explaining that many locals resort to similar protective measures due to fear of criminal organizations. The resident stated that approximately half of the town's homes possess weapons, and that recent blood feuds have claimed the lives of six residents in the past two months.

Golan accused the government and police of failing to address crime within the Arab community, asserting that the state is not fulfilling its duty to protect its citizens, leading to unchecked violence. He urged Arab citizens to vote in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that their choice of party is less important than exercising their democratic right. "If you are not partners in determining the next government, you are abandoning your future and the future of your children," Golan stated, warning that low voter turnout would hinder desired change.
