Yair Golan Accuses Israeli Government of Abandoning Arab Community in Crime Fight

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, addressed Israel's Arab population in an Arabic message during the Knesset election campaign, accusing the Israeli government of deliberately neglecting the fight against crime and violence in Arab society. Golan pledged to work towards replacing the current government, eradicating crime, and restoring a sense of security to Arab communities.

He attributed the ongoing violence to a sustained government policy that has abandoned Arab citizens. To illustrate the severity of the situation, Golan shared footage from a shooting incident in Sakhnin, highlighting the fear and anxiety experienced by entire families, including the cries of a young girl caught in the event.

Golan emphasized that professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, engineers, teachers, and transportation workers in Arab towns fear leaving their homes after dark. He described this as the harsh reality that Arab citizens of Israel face daily due to the government's failure to address the issue effectively.
