Yair Golan Pledges Special Task Force to Combat Crime in Arab Communities

Yair Golan, leader of the Democrats party, conducted a tour of the Arab towns of Kafr Qara and Baqa al-Gharbiyya on Monday. During his visit, he met with local leaders, residents, and activists, and toured a research and development center in Kafr Qara, as well as local businesses.

During the tour, Golan met with lawyer Najeh Masarwa, former head of the Kafr Qara local council, whose son was killed in 2021. Their discussion focused on combating crime and violence within the Arab community and the need for a fundamental change in the state's approach to organized crime. Golan emphasized that crime fighting must become a central national mission, involving increased police presence, higher crime detection rates, and a firm confrontation with criminal organizations.

"I told Najeh Masarwa that we will form a special task force, so that fathers will no longer have to bury their sons," Golan stated. "We will implement a radical solution plan, provide the best human resources in the country, and fight criminal organizations. We will raise the crime detection rate. There must be someone who wants to achieve this, and it is possible. We want this. And this is what we will do in the next government."

Golan also visited the R&D center in Kafr Qara, receiving an update on its innovation and development activities. He concluded his tour with a visit to Rosa Cafe in Baqa al-Gharbiyya to learn about local business initiatives. The tour is part of the Democrats' efforts to engage with the Arab public, focusing on crime prevention, community empowerment, and fostering innovation and employment opportunities.
