Following Nazareth Murders, Yair Golan Publishes Crime Plan in Arabic

In response to the recent murders of three young men in Nazareth, Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, published the main points of his party's plan to combat crime in the Arab community in Arabic. The plan, first presented in August as part of the party's election platform, is called "Root Treatment" and aims to address the "revolving door" in the court system.

The Democrats argue that crime figures are released due to lengthy trials or lenient sentences. Their proposal includes establishing specialized courts for serious offenses, imposing harsher penalties on organized crime, and shortening the legal process from arrest to imprisonment. The party also pledges to create a government insurance company to assist business owners threatened by extortion rackets.

Furthermore, the Democrats commit to an annual budget of one billion shekels for the program, which Golan contrasted with the current government's spending on road construction in settlements. The party asserts this funding is necessary to tackle the escalating violence.
