Freddy Gillespie Signs Two-Year Deal with Nes Ziona Basketball Club
Nes Ziona has made a significant addition to their roster by signing center Freddy Gillespie to a two-year contract. The 29-year-old, standing 2.06 meters tall, joins the Israeli team after playing last season with Galatasaray. Gillespie has an extensive European career, including stints with Bayern Munich, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, and Olimpia Milano. He played 82 EuroLeague games, finishing the 2024/2025 season with Milano, where he averaged 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. In the EuroCup last season with Galatasaray, he posted averages of 5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Known for his physical presence and dominance in the paint, Gillespie will join Jacob Wiley as Nes Ziona's primary centers. The team has also signed Paris Lee, Adam Ariel, Vincent Amsalem, Noam Dovrat, and Benia Sarur, complementing returning key players Bryce Brown, Jackson Rowe, and Spencer Weisz.
