Former Milan Center Freddy Gillespie Signs with Nes Ziona Basketball Team

Nes Ziona is making notable moves in the basketball transfer market this summer, securing former Bayern Munich, Crvena Zvezda, and Milan center Freddy Gillespie. The 29-year-old, standing 2.06 meters tall, has agreed to join the Israeli team after completing the 2025/2026 season with Galatasaray. Gillespie played 82 EuroLeague games before leaving Milan at the end of the 2024/2025 season, where he averaged 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. Last season with Galatasaray, he contributed 5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in the EuroCup.

Known for his physical presence and dominance under the basket, Gillespie will join Jacob Wiley as Nes Ziona’s centers. The team has also signed Paris Lee, a former Panathinaikos and Villeurbanne player, along with Adam Ariel, Vincent Amsalem, Noam Dovrat, and Benia Sarur. These new additions complement key players who remained with the team this summer, including Bryce Brown, Jackson Rowe, and Spencer Weisz.
