Former Milan Center Freddy Gillespie Joins Nes Ziona Basketball Team
Nes Ziona is making notable moves in the basketball transfer market this summer, securing former Bayern Munich, Crvena Zvezda, and Milan center Freddy Gillespie. The 29-year-old, standing 2.06 meters tall, has agreed to join the Israeli team after playing last season with Galatasaray. Gillespie has extensive EuroLeague experience, having played 82 games before leaving Milan at the end of the 2024/2025 season, where he averaged 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. In the EuroCup last season with Galatasaray, he posted 5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Known for his physical presence and dominance in the paint, Gillespie will join Jacob Wiley as Nes Ziona's primary centers. The team has also signed Paris Lee, a former Panathinaikos and Villeurbanne player, along with Adam Ariel, Vincent Amsalem, Noam Dovrat, and Benia Sarur. These new additions complement key returning players Bryce Brown, Jackson Rowe, and Spencer Weiss, strengthening Nes Ziona's roster ahead of the upcoming Israeli Basketball Premier League season.
