Netanyahu Rejects 15-Point Gaza Proposal, Vows No Withdrawal Before Hamas Disarmament

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu firmly rejected the 15-point peace proposal aimed at Gaza during a government meeting on Sunday. He declared that Israel will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip until Hamas is fully disarmed, emphasizing that no Palestinian state will be established in Gaza or the West Bank while he remains prime minister. Netanyahu stated, "Israel rejects the 15-point document. The IDF will not retreat from Gaza until Hamas is completely disarmed, including all heavy and light weapons, with genuine disarmament, not a symbolic one."

Netanyahu noted ongoing discussions with the United States regarding the proposal, acknowledging that some American ideas are acceptable to Israel while others are not. He stressed Israel's commitment to its security interests, saying, "The existence of Israel and the security of all its citizens are non-negotiable." He cited past military actions in Rafah, the Philadelphi Corridor, Lebanon, and Iran as proof of Israel's resolve to defend itself.

The 15-point document, presented by the "Peace Council," aims to promote a ceasefire in Gaza and includes disarming Hamas and transitioning to civilian governance. However, Israel disputes interpretations related to amnesty for Hamas militants involved in attacks against Israelis. Netanyahu also praised U.S. President Donald Trump as a strong ally in opposing Iran's nuclear ambitions, reiterating that Israel will prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Regarding Lebanon, Netanyahu reported recent Israeli military operations targeting militants, including in the Ali Taher mountain range, emphasizing ongoing efforts to neutralize threats with determination and intelligence. The prime minister concluded by reaffirming Israel's readiness to stand firm on its security interests even against its closest allies if necessary.
