Maccabi Tel Aviv Defender Roy Revivo Nears Transfer to Elche as Coach Approves Move

Roy Revivo, the 23-year-old left-back from Maccabi Tel Aviv, is close to completing a transfer to Spanish club Elche. According to reports from Valencia, the coming days are critical for finalizing the deal after Maccabi rejected Elche's initial offer of under 2 million euros. The offer has since increased to 3.3 million euros, with Elche aware of interest from other clubs and aiming to meet Maccabi's demands. Elche's new Argentine coach, Martín Anselmi, has personally requested Revivo's signing and envisions him playing across the entire left flank in his tactical setup. Anselmi previously made his European coaching debut against Maccabi Tel Aviv in January 2025, when he led Porto to a 1-0 Europa League victory. He was later dismissed from Porto, coached Botafogo, and recently signed a one-year contract with Elche, including an option for extension.

While the transfer fee is nearly agreed upon, final details remain unresolved, particularly concerning Revivo's contractual right to 15 percent of the transfer fee and future sell-on percentages for Maccabi Tel Aviv. Notably, Revivo stayed in Israel and did not travel with his teammates to the recent 3-0 defeat against CSKA Sofia in Batumi. The negotiations continue as both clubs work to finalize the terms of the deal.
