Roy Revivo Departs Maccabi Tel Aviv for Spanish Club Elche

Roy Revivo, 23, has officially bid farewell to Maccabi Tel Aviv after 17 years with the club, having completed his transfer to Spanish La Liga side Elche this week. Revivo, a left-back, posted an emotional message on his Instagram account on Thursday, marking the end of his long tenure and the beginning of his first European chapter.

"I am in Elche in the Spanish league. But I don't forget where it all started, 17 years. Sometimes it's hard to summarize a period that is actually a whole life," Revivo wrote. He recalled joining Maccabi Tel Aviv as a child with a big dream, and how the club became his home, where he grew, learned, developed, experienced championships and cups, and fulfilled his dreams. He expressed gratitude to coaches, teammates, staff, management, and the fans for their support through good and bad times.

The transfer followed a tense summer and a dispute between Revivo's family and Maccabi Tel Aviv's management. An agreement was reached just hours before the transfer window closed. Revivo flew to Spain after Maccabi's 3-1 victory over Maccabi Haifa, passed his medicals, and signed a four-year contract worth approximately 550,000 euros per season. Maccabi Tel Aviv will receive a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros for the player.

Revivo, who won league titles and cups with Maccabi Tel Aviv and played in European competitions, joins Elche, who are currently seeking their first win of the season in La Liga. Elche's upcoming matches include games against Real Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao, and Real Madrid later this month.
