Roy Revivo Set to Leave Maccabi Tel Aviv, Won't Play This Season

Roy Revivo's time at Maccabi Tel Aviv appears to be over as he prepares to transfer to Spanish club Elche. According to sources close to the player, Revivo has already agreed to terms with Elche and is waiting for the clubs to finalize the deal. He will not play for Maccabi this season and has refused to travel for upcoming matches, including the game in Sofia and the earlier match in Batumi.

Tensions have escalated between Revivo and Maccabi Tel Aviv, despite the defender expected to attend training. Both sides hold grievances, with the club emphasizing the importance of upcoming matches and criticizing Revivo's refusal to participate. Maccabi officials noted previous conflicts with other players but stressed that Revivo, a homegrown talent, should understand the significance of the situation. They also expressed disappointment in his conduct, which they say is not appreciated by club owner Mitchell Goldhar.

Elche initially offered 1.7 million euros for Revivo, later increasing the bid, but Maccabi demands 3 million euros. Revivo is also expected to forfeit 15 percent of his transfer fee. The player’s camp claims promises made by Maccabi regarding salary increases and a post-Sheriff Tiraspol transfer have not been fulfilled. They insist this chapter is closed and are prepared for a confrontation if necessary to complete the move.
