Haifa Hosts Its First Food Festival Featuring Top Israeli Chefs and Trendy Dishes
Haifa is launching its first-ever food festival from August 11 to 13, running Tuesday through Thursday evenings from 6 PM to 11 PM at the Sami Ofer Stadium plaza. The event will showcase dishes from renowned Israeli chefs including Israel Aharoni, Moshe Rost, Guy Gamzo, Avi Biton, Rachel Ben Alul, Hamudi Okla, Rola, Rasif 33, Agadir, Robi Michael, and sisters Shari and Michal Anski. Festival offerings will include a diverse range of cuisines such as Arab, Druze, Asian, and Israeli, with dishes priced up to 45 shekels. Visitors can enjoy specialties like dim sum, khachapuri, Tibetan momo, empanadas, arayes, asado sandwiches, matcha, bubble waffles with ice cream, warm knafeh, churros, ICE BALL shaved ice, and traditional sweets.
In parallel, several restaurants and chains are introducing new menus and promotions. Cafe Bollywood in Florentin, Tel Aviv, launched new vegetarian and vegan thali meals featuring dishes like rajma and kadai paneer, priced between 55 and 89 shekels. R48 Chef Table in Tel Aviv updated its tasting menu with 11 courses including innovative dishes like crispy yuba cracker and local wasabi preparations, costing 620 shekels per person excluding drinks.
Shake Shack introduced a jalapeño-themed menu with items such as the Jalapeño Cheddar Burger and Jalapeño Cheddar Chicken Shack priced from 31 to 49 shekels, plus a jalapeño lemonade for 17 shekels. McDonald's is bringing back its limited-edition purple Grimas Shake in August at 100 branches, alongside app-exclusive summer deals like discounted kids' meals and nuggets.
The restaurant Emesh in Tel Aviv is offering a "sinful burgers" menu Monday through Thursday with happy hour discounts of 30% from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Kampai Street Wok refreshed its menu with 14 new dishes including Yellowtail Jalapeño and Salmon Sashimi, available at BIG malls in Beersheba and Ashdod. Papa John's introduced three new pizzas combining traditional pizza with snack flavors, priced around 87 to 95 shekels.
Chef Yossi Shitrit's Bandit in Jaffa launched a new lobster burger served with sour cream aioli and jalapeños, paired with wine or beer during a Monday to Wednesday happy hour from 6 PM to 7 PM for 80 shekels. Loola Martin in Herzliya Pituach rolled out new business lunch options starting at 79 shekels, featuring dishes like roasted chicken liver in red wine and sea bass filet with spaghetti, served Sunday to Thursday from noon to 5 PM.
