Haifa Eatery Rib West Shifts to Self-Service Burgers
The culinary bar Rib West in Haifa is changing its concept and menu, shifting to operate during lunch hours with a focus on self-service burgers. Chef Nabil Hana, formerly of various Tel Aviv establishments, explained the decision stems from difficulties in finding qualified staff for both kitchen and service roles, alongside a significant customer demand for burgers, particularly during the World Cup.
The new menu features a 220-gram patty, with options like a classic burger for 76 shekels, a "Bouche" burger with caramelized onions for 98 shekels, and a cheeseburger with Rib West sauce for 82 shekels. Mini-burgers, including a shrimp burger and sloppy joe, are also available. Business lunch deals include a main course, soft drink, and side, or two mini-burgers with a drink and side for 92 shekels.
Additionally, Rib West's weekend brunch returns, offering dishes such as Rösti and Eggs with salmon or bacon (52 shekels), Croque Madame (82 shekels), and an English Breakfast (88 shekels). The bar is located at 48 Yaffo Street, Haifa, and will operate from Monday to Thursday, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
In other culinary news, Tel Aviv's Japanese izakaya Gagin is celebrating its second anniversary throughout September with a series of special dinners. Guest chefs, including Tomer Tal, Gadi Bor, Yoni Danon, and Ido Cablan, will collaborate with Gagin's chef Gilad Dabush to create unique menus. These events will feature dishes like king crab pasta and grilled fish, accompanied by a special cocktail menu featuring CÎROC vodka and Kirin beer.
Coca-Cola is dedicating September to "Diner Month" across Israel, partnering with over 200 restaurants and chains. These establishments will offer special menus and dishes inspired by American diners, served with Coca-Cola or Coca-Cola Zero. Examples include BBB's burger with pulled brisket and Port 19's American or Mexican butcher meals. The promotion includes kosher and vegan options and will culminate in a Coca-Cola Diner pop-up event later in the month.
