Tel Aviv and Jerusalem Food Scene Highlights New Dishes, Festivals, and Events This Summer
Several culinary highlights are taking place across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Rehovot this summer, featuring new menus, unique dishes, and food festivals. In Rehovot, kosher chef restaurant Amaya launches its first lunch menu on August 2, offering five main dishes priced between 42 and 143 shekels, served Sunday to Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. Meanwhile, the new Sarona Market branch of the Hummus Center in Tel Aviv introduces a sorbet ice cream flavored with hummus, priced at 15 shekels, alongside new meat and vegetarian group meals.
Chef Moshik Roth’s restaurant in Tel Aviv is celebrating the truffle season by adding fresh Australian truffles to all tasting menus through August, with prices ranging from 250 to 800 shekels for truffle additions. Also in Tel Aviv, the veteran fish restaurant Shchupak partners with charcutier Alon Talmore to serve unique fish sausages and seafood dishes from July 19 to August 13, priced at 125 shekels.
Jerusalem hosts the Auto Food Festival from July 27 to August 20 at the Palace of the Representative promenade, featuring over 30 chefs and eateries with dishes priced 25 to 45 shekels, plus live music and entertainment. The 50th Hutzot HaYotzer Festival runs from July 30 to August 13 at Sultan’s Pool, introducing a new food complex led by chef Rafi Cohen with four themed culinary areas.
In Tel Aviv’s Savion Center, the new chef Elad Finish debuts a menu focusing on fish and vegetables at the kosher restaurant Mila. The Biga café chain offers Israel’s largest pancake, 22 cm in diameter and weighing 500 grams, with three syrup options for 89 shekels, available via Wolt until the end of August.
Finally, La Tigra Neapolitan pizzeria in Tel Aviv celebrates its fifth anniversary with a leopard-themed party on August 6, featuring DJs, free pizza, desserts, and a dress code, with tickets priced at 120 shekels.
