Tel Aviv Hosts New Summer Food Pop-Ups Including Riverside Café and Kid-Friendly Burger Workshops
Tel Aviv is offering a variety of new culinary experiences this summer to help residents enjoy good food despite the heat and humidity. Among the highlights is a Riverside Café pop-up on the banks of the Yarkon River, open every Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The café features fresh sourdough breads, handmade focaccias, wood-fired pizzas, Italian-style sandwiches, smoked salmon, fresh salads, cheese platters, and a range of beverages including cocktails and freshly squeezed juices. Visitors can also purchase picnic baskets to enjoy on the nearby lawns without needing a reservation.
For families with children aged 4 to 10, the BBB burger chain has partnered with the popular children’s brand Karamel to offer chef-led burger workshops throughout August. Kids learn how to make their own burgers from scratch, including preparing patties and assembling them with fresh vegetables and sauces. The workshops include fries, drinks, and a chocolate cake dessert decorated by the children. Special gluten-free sessions are available for children with dietary restrictions. Each participant receives branded aprons, hats, a chef certificate, and a Karamel gift. The workshops cost 79 shekels and require advance registration.
Additionally, the summer sees the return of a rooftop wine bar pop-up at "Hadar Prati" event space on Ben-Zvi Street. This wine bar celebrates northern Israeli wineries and supports vintners and farmers working under challenging conditions. Featured wineries include Pelter, Chateau Golan, Recanati, Tel Shifon, Galil Mountains, and Ben Zimra. Chef Yehonatan Gutman oversees a kosher menu offering dishes such as finely chopped beef tartare and summer sharing plates, all served with panoramic city views and a Levantine twist.
