Chef Popina Launches New 430-Shekel Tasting Menu Amid Summer Food Festivals and Market Openings

Several culinary events and new menus are launching across Israel this summer, highlighted by a new tasting menu at the veteran Tel Aviv restaurant Popina, priced at 430 shekels per diner, with an optional wine pairing for 215 shekels. The menu features innovative dishes such as sea fish tartare on rice bread and vanilla-sesame panna cotta with candied Chinese orange.

In Petah Tikva, the kosher Asian restaurant Nini Cho celebrates its fifth anniversary with a special menu by Chef Aaron Tsamsrikai, showcasing childhood flavors from Udon Thani, Thailand. Dishes include grilled chicken meatballs in pineapple chili sauce and red curry rice noodles. Also in Petah Tikva, a new weekly farmers market will open on August 27, offering seasonal produce, cheeses, breads, and more, as part of a city heritage revitalization.

Tel Aviv’s Romano restaurant is launching "Romano HOMECOMING," a series of special evenings featuring guest chefs from the group’s culinary stars, including Adam Sold and Yuval Leshem on August 31, and a final event with Eyal Shani on October 4. Meanwhile, Radio Galil Yam in Herzliya introduces a summer menu by Chef Ido Keinan, with dishes like bresaola and beetroot salad, plus happy hour and live DJ events.

Other highlights include the "Skewers Festival" by butcher David Legziel, running August 23-28 with participating restaurants offering unique skewer dishes, and Pastel’s new menu by Chef Teddy Kagan featuring traditional and innovative dishes. The Asian restaurant ZO offers a limited-time tasting menu for couples priced at 349 shekels.

In Jerusalem, the world’s first wine festival inside an aquarium will take place on September 3, featuring over 50 wineries and distilleries, with tickets at 129 shekels. Lastly, Biscotti bakery launches a "Discolida" croissant dessert with American-style ice cream and sauces, available through August 31.
