Heatwave Eases Across Israel as Weekend Weather Brings Cooler Temperatures
On Friday, Israel experienced partly cloudy to clear skies with a noticeable relief from the recent intense heatwave, as temperatures moderated across the country. Coastal areas along the Mediterranean Sea saw wave heights ranging from 70 to 140 centimeters, with water temperatures steady at 30 degrees Celsius. Winds blew from the southwest to northwest at speeds up to 36 km/h on southern and central beaches, and up to 40 km/h along the northern coast. In the Gulf of Eilat, sea conditions were calm with waves between 10 and 30 centimeters and water temperatures at 28 degrees Celsius. Winds there reached speeds of up to 48 km/h from the northwest to north. Temperature forecasts for key cities included 25-31 degrees Celsius in Tel Aviv, 27-30 in Haifa, 19-30 in Jerusalem, 24-31 in Ashdod, 23-33 in Beersheba, 26-30 in Ashkelon, 19-30 in Mitzpe Ramon, and 22-34 in Afula. Despite the easing heat, summer conditions remain in place across Israel.
