Israel Faces Brief Heat Relief Before Another Intense Heatwave Hits Next Week

The Israeli Meteorological Service announced that the upcoming weekend will bring some relief from the current intense heatwave, with temperatures returning to seasonal norms and even dipping slightly below average in mountainous areas. Despite this temporary cooldown, the Mediterranean Sea will become hazardous for swimming, prompting authorities to urge the public to follow safety guidelines carefully.

This respite will be short-lived, as a gradual warming trend is expected to begin early next week. By midweek, a new and more severe heatwave will sweep across much of the country, with significantly above-average temperatures in the mountains and inland regions. The peak of this heatwave is forecasted for Wednesday, when mountain temperatures could reach up to 35 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Service noted that the current heatwave is expected to be slightly less intense than the one experienced earlier this week. Meanwhile, tourist sites such as natural caves are attracting visitors seeking natural cooling during the heatwave. Residents are advised to prepare for the upcoming extreme heat conditions and remain cautious during the dangerous swimming conditions in the Mediterranean.
