Infant Drowns in Private Pool in Ashkelon, Condition Critical
A one-and-a-half-year-old infant drowned today in a private pool at a home in Ashkelon. The incident was reported at 17:05 to Magen David Adom's emergency center in the Lachish region. Paramedics and medics arrived promptly and found the child unconscious, without pulse or breathing. They immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts including chest compressions, ventilation, and medication administration.
The infant was transported to Barzilai Medical Center while resuscitation continued en route. Authorities suspect the child fell into the pool and remained submerged for several minutes. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. MDA paramedics Moti Shuv, senior medic Roi Lasri, and medic Gabriel Kotzarenko described the critical condition of the infant and emphasized their ongoing efforts to save her life.
