East Jerusalem Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill MK Tzvi Sukkot

Tarzan Hamad, a 25-year-old resident of East Jerusalem, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of threatening to kill Member of Knesset Tzvi Sukkot. Hamad allegedly sent Sukkot images of weapons and ammunition along with a threatening message on Facebook stating, "I always have a weapon, I travel without security checks, I will kill you when I see you." Following these threats, the Knesset and Israeli Police conducted a security assessment, resulting in raising the threat level against Sukkot to level 4 and increasing his security measures.

According to Sukkot's office, the threats came after he conducted a series of visits to schools in the Arab sector as part of his parliamentary work and his fight against extortion. Sukkot commented, "I commend the Israeli Police for their swift action and the arrest of the suspect. These threats will not deter me from continuing my public mission. Violence, crime, and illegal weapons stockpiles in the Arab sector pose a serious threat to Israeli citizens' security, and I will continue to combat them with full force. Anyone who thinks threats will silence me is mistaken."
