Israeli Police Charge Man for Terror Threats Against MK Tzvi Sukkot and Itamar Ben-Gvir

A 30-year-old resident of Shuafat has been indicted for impersonating a rival and issuing terror threats against Israeli politicians, including Member of Knesset Tzvi Sukkot. The suspect, who used the alias "Tarzan," created a fake Facebook profile using the identity of a person he was in conflict with and sent threatening messages and images, including a photo of a gun, magazine, and bullets. One message to Sukkot called him a "terrorist settler" and threatened that he would "go to hell." The threats followed Sukkot's visits to Arab sector schools as part of his parliamentary work as chairman of the Education Committee.

Following a report to the Israeli police, the cyber unit of Lahav 433 launched an investigation, identified the suspect, and arrested him. The prosecution submitted an indictment and requested his detention until the end of proceedings, which the court approved. Due to the severity of the threats, the Knesset and police raised the threat level against MK Sukkot to level 4 and increased his security measures.

Additional threats were reported after Sukkot's visits, highlighting ongoing tensions related to his activities in the Arab sector. The case underscores the challenges faced by Israeli officials operating in sensitive areas and the role of cyber investigations in addressing online threats.
