Security Heightened for MK Tzvi Sukkot After Serious Death Threats

Following a series of severe death threats, including messages accompanied by images of a gun, the security level for Israeli Member of Knesset Tzvi Sukkot has been raised to level 4. The Knesset and police jointly announced the escalation after assessing the threats received in recent weeks. The increased security measures include reinforced protection around Sukkot.

The threats reportedly intensified after Sukkot conducted visits to Arab sector schools as part of his parliamentary duties as chairman of the Education Committee. One threatening message, allegedly from a Hamas operative in East Jerusalem, stated, "I always carry a weapon. You (Sukkot), Ben Gvir, and all settlers, if I see you face to face, I will kill you," accompanied by a photo of a gun. Sukkot's team confirmed the threats represent a significant escalation and are being taken very seriously by security agencies.

Responding to the threats, Sukkot said, "They sent me messages with a picture of a gun saying they are coming to kill me. If anyone thinks I will stop overseeing what happens in the sector because of threats, they are gravely mistaken." He added that the threats have been handed over to security and police authorities, who decided to increase his protection accordingly. Sukkot emphasized that the violence, crime, and illegal weapons stockpiles in the Arab sector pose an existential threat to Israel, and these threats only strengthen his resolve to continue combating the issue.
