Sex Offender Therapist Arrested at Ben Gurion Airport After 11 Years on the Run

A 50-year-old man, previously convicted of sexual offenses against minors and who impersonated a physiotherapist, was arrested at Ben Gurion Airport upon his return to Israel after fleeing the country about 11 years ago. The police have linked him to additional suspected sexual offenses against minors in the Haifa and Krayot areas and plan to request an extension of his detention at the Krayot Magistrate's Court.

The investigation began in 2015 when the Zebulon police station opened a case following suspicions of multiple sexual offenses against minors during "treatments" provided by the suspect. Some victims reportedly included children with cerebral palsy. Approximately one month before the complaint was filed, the suspect left Israel and was declared wanted for investigation but remained at large for over a decade.

Upon his arrival in Israel last night, police arrested him at the airport and transferred him to the Zebulon station for questioning. After initial interrogation, he was remanded in custody. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing and that they will seek to extend his detention based on the findings and investigative needs.
