Gilad Erdan's New Party Aims to Exclude Haredim and Yair Golan, Pushes Right-Wing Agenda

Gilad Erdan is forming a new political party that will focus on recruiting Haredi voters while excluding Haredi parties and former IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Golan from its coalition. The party plans to adopt a right-wing stance on security and policy, emphasizing continued settlement expansion in the West Bank and supporting judicial reforms distinct from those of the current government. Despite calls to include former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot in the government, Erdan's party insists on a right-leaning security and political line.

A central premise of the party is that Israel's security challenges require a significant increase in IDF manpower through mass Haredi conscription. However, Erdan's faction argues this can only be achieved if Haredi parties remain outside the governing coalition. The party also aims to form a unity government with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eizenkot.
