Family Member Kills Toddler in Ar'ara Hit-and-Run, Initially Lies to Police
A toddler was fatally run over in Ar'ara, northern Israel, after being struck by a family member who initially gave a false account of the incident. The child, approximately three years old, was critically injured and taken to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police from the Iron Station, led by Chief Superintendent Tzachi Ben Haim, responded promptly to the scene. Following an initial investigation, a suspect related to the child was arrested. The suspect first claimed the toddler had fallen from a height, but further inquiry revealed the child was hit while the suspect was reversing a vehicle.
The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather details about the circumstances leading to the tragic accident.
