Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Keaton Wallace for Two Years as Loni Walker’s Replacement

Maccabi Tel Aviv is close to finalizing its roster for the upcoming season, having agreed to a two-year contract with American guard Keaton Wallace. The 27-year-old, standing 1.91 meters tall, will earn $1 million per season and is set to fill the role previously held by Loni Walker. This marks Wallace’s first professional move outside the United States after two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.

Last season, Wallace appeared in 53 regular-season games, averaging 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 10.1 minutes per game. He is the older brother of former NBA champion and renowned defender Kayson Wallace. In his rookie NBA season, Keaton posted stronger numbers, averaging 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 16 minutes per game. Highlights include a career-high 27 points against the Chicago Bulls and his first career triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists in a win over the Orlando Magic.

Undrafted in 2021 after graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Wallace managed to secure a spot in the NBA through perseverance. Earlier on the same day, Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced the signing of Daniel Theis, bringing coach Oded Katash’s squad closer to completion.
