IDF Chief Visits Gaza, Vows Continued Pressure on Hamas After October 7 Attacks
Israeli Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir toured the Gaza Strip alongside Southern Command Chief Major General Yaniv Asor, 99th Division Commander Brigadier General Elad Tzuri, and other senior officials. Zamir stated that the Israeli military is systematically targeting Hamas in Gaza, significantly weakening the group and altering the security situation. He emphasized that Israel will not allow threats to its borders like those experienced on October 7 to reemerge.
Zamir reflected on the impact of the October 7 massacre, mentioning the images from the communities, the Bibas family, the lookouts, and all the victims as constant reminders. He pledged that the military will relentlessly pursue those responsible for the massacre and will hold accountable everyone involved, sooner or later. Zamir described this as an ongoing and permanent mission for the IDF.
