IDF Chief Visits Gaza, Vows to Hold All Responsible for October 7 Massacre Accountable

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir conducted a visit to the Gaza Strip on Wednesday alongside senior Southern Command officers. During the tour, which included Southern Command Commander Major General Yaniv Asor, 99th Division Commander Brigadier General Elad Tzuri, and Gaza Division Commander Brigadier General Liron Batito, Zamir received an operational briefing and met with commanders of divisions and brigades active in the area.

Zamir stated that the IDF has systematically struck Hamas, significantly weakening the group and altering the security situation in Gaza. He emphasized that the IDF will continue to act proactively to eliminate threats and protect Israeli communities and residents from future attacks. Zamir underscored that Israel will not allow a recurrence of the type of threat experienced on October 7, 2023.

Addressing the ongoing pursuit of the perpetrators behind the October 7 massacre, Zamir said the images of the affected communities, including the Bibas family and other victims, remain vivid in their minds daily. He pledged relentless efforts to track down and hold accountable all those involved in the massacre. Zamir further noted that the fighting in Gaza is part of a broader multi-front campaign, with the IDF maintaining an offensive and committed approach to the mission.
