IDF Soldier and Three Minors Arrested in Maale Adumim Extortion and Arson Case

Five suspects, including an active-duty IDF soldier and three minors, were arrested in Maale Adumim on suspicion of involvement in a series of arson attacks and extortion threats. The investigation, conducted by the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District Police and Maale Adumim station, followed two recent arson incidents targeting a vehicle and a hair salon. Authorities believe the arsons were financially motivated and part of an extortion scheme. Evidence gathered during a covert investigation revealed that several minors were allegedly used to carry out the arson attacks.

Following the transition to an overt phase of the investigation, police raided the suspects' homes and detained five individuals: two men in their twenties from Maale Adumim, including the IDF soldier, and three minors aged 14 and 15. During the arrests and searches, officers confiscated a knife, cash, and suspected illegal drugs. All suspects were taken for questioning at the Judea and Samaria Central Unit. The police extended the detention of three suspects until August 7, while the others are set to appear in court where the police will request further detention to complete the investigation.
