Israel Police Arrest Suspects in Smuggling, Assault, and Arson Cases

Israeli police have reported a series of arrests and indictments across different regions. At the Rantis checkpoint, five Palestinians without entry permits were apprehended hiding in the back of a vehicle. The driver, a man in his early twenties from Jaffa, is suspected of attempting to smuggle them for payment and was found with several thousand shekels in cash. A court ordered his detention extended.

Separately, a 16-year-old from the Avigail settlement in Judea and Samaria has been charged after being caught on video assaulting a Palestinian man who uses crutches due to an amputated leg. The teenager allegedly threatened the victim with an iron bar, pushed him, and used physical force. He also reportedly took a "Ranger" type vehicle without permission and drove it without a license. Charges include threats, assault, driving without a license and insurance, and property damage.

In another incident, surveillance footage led to the arrest of a 33-year-old resident of Nain. He is suspected of intentionally setting fire to a concrete mixer truck in Beit She'an. Investigators believe he fueled containers at a gas station before driving to the location and using the flammable liquid to ignite the vehicle.
