IDF Soldier and Three Minors Arrested for Arson and Extortion in West Bank Investigation

Five suspects, including three minors and an active-duty IDF soldier, were arrested on suspicion of arson and extortion threats in a case investigated by the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District Police. The investigation, conducted over recent months in cooperation with the Maale Adumim police station, focused on two arson incidents involving a vehicle and a barbershop, allegedly linked to a financial dispute and extortion.

Police gathered evidence through covert operations, which revealed that several minors were allegedly used to carry out the arsons. The suspects include two men in their twenties from Maale Adumim, one of whom is the IDF soldier, and three minors aged 14 and 15. During their arrest and vehicle searches, police confiscated a knife, cash, and suspected illegal drugs.

The suspects were transferred to the Judea and Samaria Central Unit for interrogation. The detention of three suspects was extended until August 7, with further extensions expected as the investigation continues and the police prepare to request additional court orders to hold them for the duration of the inquiry.
