Israeli Border Police Motorcyclists Chase and Arrest Suspects with Firearm Near Shfaram

On Tuesday, Border Police motorcyclists from the Security Division and Yasam fighters from the Northern District arrested two suspects following a dramatic car chase near Shfaram on Road 781. The suspects, an 18-year-old resident of Ibtin and a 21-year-old from Aablin, failed to comply with police orders to stop, leading to a reckless pursuit that included driving against traffic and endangering other road users. During the chase, officers fired at the vehicle's tires to halt it. Upon stopping, police seized a Glock pistol and a magazine from the suspects.

The suspects were taken to the Shfaram police station for questioning and are scheduled for a court hearing today where the police will request to extend their detention. The incident was captured on helmet cameras worn by the Border Police motorcyclists, providing dramatic footage of the pursuit.

Police officials noted that since the beginning of the year, over 530 lethal weapons have been confiscated by Northern District police and Border Police fighters in their ongoing efforts to combat violent crime. Armed suspects have been arrested "red-handed" as part of these operations, with authorities continuing to pursue legal action against those involved.
