Israeli Border Police Arrest Four Suspects Smuggling Weapons Near Paran Firing Zone
Israeli Border Police commandos in the southern region, guided by the Shin Bet and in cooperation with the IDF, arrested four suspects involved in smuggling weapons into Israeli territory. The operation took place on Monday in the Paran firing zone, with participation from fighters of the 80th Division, the 100th Squadron, and the aerial unit of the Israeli Police Operations Department. The forces acted on precise intelligence provided by the Shin Bet.
During the operation, the suspects' vehicle was located with the help of aerial surveillance. The Border Police commandos, operating with both covert and overt units, initiated the arrest. The suspects attempted to flee, endangering the security forces and nearly running over the officers on site. In response to the immediate threat, the officers fired at the vehicle's tires, stopping it and apprehending all four suspects.
The detainees, residents of the Negev, were transferred to the Shin Bet for further investigation. The police emphasized the coordinated effort between the Border Police, IDF, and Shin Bet in preventing the illegal smuggling of weapons into Israel.
