Israeli Border Police Arrest Unlicensed Motorcyclist Carrying Cannabis in Shfaram
During an operational activity on Sunday in the city of Shfaram, Israeli Border Police fighters and motorcyclists from the Counterterrorism Brigade identified a motorcyclist driving recklessly, performing wheelies in the middle of the road and endangering other road users. Upon spotting the officers, the suspect fled the scene and discarded a side bag he was carrying, apparently attempting to dispose of incriminating evidence. The officers recovered the bag, which contained approximately 52 grams of suspected cannabis and eight electronic cigarettes (vapes) also suspected to contain cannabis.
The suspect, an 18-year-old resident of Shfaram, was arrested. Police records revealed he had never obtained a driving license and was operating the motorcycle without legal authorization. The suspect was taken for further investigation at the police station, the seized drugs were confiscated as evidence, and the motorcycle was impounded by authorities.
The Israeli Police emphasized their ongoing commitment to combating reckless driving and drug offenses to ensure road safety and fight crime. They stated, "Israeli Police officers and Border Police fighters will continue to act decisively against reckless driving and drug offenses to protect road users and combat crime perpetrators."
