Israeli Forces Arrest West Bank Man for Praising Hamas and Inciting Against IDF Soldiers

Israeli security forces arrested a 39-year-old resident of Jericho overnight on suspicion of systematically posting praise for Hamas and inciting against Israel and IDF soldiers on social media. The arrest was carried out during a joint operation involving the Gilad Crime Fighting Unit, Border Police fighters from Judea and Samaria, and the IDF's 417 Brigade. The suspect was found hiding in bushes near his home and taken for interrogation at the Maale Adumim police station.

According to the investigation, the suspect operated multiple social media accounts where he regularly published inflammatory content against the State of Israel and its soldiers, alongside supportive messages for the terrorist organization Hamas. Among his posts were statements such as "God chose the name Hamas for us, and we did not know that its meaning in Hebrew is 'destruction and ruin,' which will be the fate of the Zionist occupiers," and calls to "set ambushes and strike your enemies," accompanied by images praising senior Hamas figures.

The arrest followed focused intelligence work by the Gilad Crime Fighting Unit, which collected and documented evidence online. Police revealed that the suspect is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood movement in northern Gaza and maintains connections with Hamas operatives in the Gaza Strip. Israeli police emphasized their ongoing commitment to working with all security agencies to combat incitement, support for terrorist organizations, and activities endangering public security.
