WhatsApp Introduces Five New Features to Enhance Group Chats

WhatsApp has rolled out five significant updates aimed at improving the management and usability of group chats. The most notable addition is the ability to tag all group members simultaneously by typing "@all," which sends a notification to everyone at once. This feature is particularly useful for urgent messages but can bypass muted group settings. To prevent disturbances, users can mute these notifications, and in groups with more than 32 participants, only admins can use this tagging function.

The messaging app also upgraded its group polling tools with three new capabilities: setting a deadline for poll responses, hiding voter identities for sensitive topics to ensure privacy, and allowing poll questions to be edited within 15 minutes after posting. These enhancements aim to facilitate quicker and more discreet decision-making within groups.

Additionally, WhatsApp introduced a feature that lets users create subgroups directly from an existing group, eliminating the need to start from scratch and add members individually. This is designed to simplify organizing events like surprise parties or logistics but can also be used to form smaller, private subgroups for more confidential conversations.

These updates collectively promise to make group communication on WhatsApp more efficient and user-friendly, addressing common challenges such as managing large groups and coordinating decisions. The new features are available immediately to all users.
