Second Victim Dies After Deadly Ashkelon Pedestrian-Bus Crash

The death toll from a severe traffic accident in Ashkelon has risen to two. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on David Remez Street, involving pedestrians and three buses. Initially, an approximately 80-year-old woman was reported killed at the scene. Later, at Barzilai Medical Center, a second woman who had been critically injured in the crash succumbed to her injuries. Another woman, around 70 years old, remains hospitalized in moderate condition.

Magen David Adom paramedics Doron Bar Sheshet and Ben Dolinger described the scene as a serious accident with multiple reports of a collision between a bus and pedestrians. Upon arrival, they found the elderly woman unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and despite resuscitation efforts, she was declared dead at the scene. Two other women in their 70s were treated on-site and transported to the hospital for further care.

Barzilai Medical Center confirmed receiving two female victims from the accident, one admitted in moderate condition to the surgical department, and the other brought in critical condition who later died despite resuscitation attempts. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
