Elderly Woman Killed in Three-Bus Collision in Ashkelon, Two Others Seriously Injured

On Tuesday afternoon, an approximately 80-year-old woman died in a traffic accident involving three buses on David Remez Street in Ashkelon. Medical teams pronounced her dead at the scene and transported two other women with serious injuries to Barzilai Medical Center. The incident occurred at 14:06 when emergency services received reports of pedestrians hit by a bus. According to paramedic Dvir Malul, one bus apparently experienced brake failure and collided with women waiting at a bus stop, trapping one under the vehicle before hitting two parked buses. Passengers inside the moving bus were unharmed. The Israel Police have launched a criminal investigation into the fatal accident. Officers from the Ashkelon station and traffic accident investigators from the Lachish district are managing the scene, regulating traffic, and continuing to examine the circumstances of the crash.
