Bus Hits Pedestrians in Ashkelon, Killing One Woman and Injuring Others

A deadly traffic accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Ashkelon, southern Israel, involving three buses and multiple pedestrians. The crash took place on David Remez Street and resulted in the death of an approximately 80-year-old woman at the scene due to severe multi-system injuries. Another woman in her 70s was critically injured and evacuated to Barzilai Medical Center, along with a second woman in moderate condition suffering from complex injuries.

Emergency medical teams, including paramedics Doron Bar Sheshet and Ben Dolinger from Magen David Adom, arrived quickly to provide urgent care. They found the elderly woman unconscious and without vital signs, confirming her death on site. Two other women were treated and transported to the hospital for further care.

The scene showed multiple buses stopped close together in the middle of the road, with rescuers attending to the injured pedestrians on the asphalt. Local residents gathered nearby, visibly shocked by the incident. Ashkelon police and traffic accident investigators from the Lachish district promptly arrived to manage traffic congestion and begin a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances that led to the involvement of three buses and the severe pedestrian injuries.
