Prominent Vizhnitz Educator Rabbi Aharon Mattityahu Salzman Dies at 58 in Jerusalem

Rabbi Aharon Mattityahu Salzman, a respected figure in the Vizhnitz Hasidic community and a veteran educator in Jerusalem, passed away at the age of 58. Born on the 9th of Sivan 5728 (1968) to Rabbi Israel Salzman, he grew up in Safed before settling in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem. Rabbi Salzman was among the founding members of the Vizhnitz community in Ramot and helped establish the central shtiebel, which became a hub for his extensive public and communal activities.

For many years, he served as an educator at the "Chayei Olam" Talmud Torah in Jerusalem, dedicating himself to nurturing generations of students with exceptional devotion, instilling good character and warmth, traits for which he was well known. Rabbi Salzman is survived by his wife and 11 children, some of whom have yet to marry.

His funeral will take place at 12:00 PM from the "Shemgar" funeral home in Jerusalem, proceeding to burial at the Mount of Olives. His passing marks a significant loss for the Vizhnitz community and the broader educational framework in Jerusalem.
