Vizhnitz Hasidic Leader Rabbi Yitzchak Betzalel Segal Dies at 90 in Bnei Brak

By משה ויסברג
Translated & summarized from Behadrei Haredim by baba
The story · English

Rabbi Yitzchak Betzalel Halevi Segal, a revered elder of the Vizhnitz Hasidic community in Bnei Brak, passed away at the age of 90. Born on the 12th of Shevat 5696 (1936) to Rabbi Tzvi Aryeh Segal and grandson of the holy Kabbalist Rabbi Shalom of Padehitz from Safed, Rabbi Segal was known for his devout Torah study and humble service to God. He married the daughter of Rabbi Yisrael HaKohen Treger and was closely connected to the Belz Rebbe, "Chelek Yeshua".

Throughout his life, Rabbi Segal was a spiritual figure who educated his descendants in the ways of Torah, reverence, and Hasidism. His passing leaves behind a legacy of righteous generations following his pure path. His funeral took place on Sunday, the 19th of Menachem Av, beginning at noon from the Great Beit Midrash in the Vizhnitz neighborhood of Bnei Brak to the Segula Cemetery in Petah Tikva, where he was laid to rest.

The family is sitting shiva at their home on 8 Givat Pinchas Street in Bnei Brak. Prayer times during the mourning period are Shacharit at 8:00 AM and Mincha and Maariv at their usual times. The community mourns the loss of a prominent and beloved Hasidic leader. May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
