Former Mossad Chief Dedi Barnea Joins US Defense Tech Firm Ondas as Global President

Two months after concluding his tenure as head of Mossad, Dedi Barnea has joined the American defense technology company Ondas. The Nasdaq-listed firm announced on Monday that Barnea was appointed as Ondas Defense's global president and chairman. Barnea, who led Mossad from 2021 to 2026, will oversee the company’s business and technology strategy, international market expansion, development of defense technologies, and business-technology acquisitions and integration.

Barnea expressed enthusiasm about working with Ondas’ team to support its global growth and advance next-generation multidimensional defense systems powered by artificial intelligence. Ondas CEO Eric Brock welcomed Barnea’s appointment, highlighting his extensive operational and technological experience as directly relevant to the company’s next growth phase.

During his Mossad leadership, Barnea directed the agency through key operations including the "Iron Swords" war and missions against Iran such as "Like a Lion" and "Roar of the Lion." His official farewell ceremony took place in early June, with Roman Gofman succeeding him as Mossad chief. Ondas specializes in autonomous systems, counter-drone defense solutions, and intelligence-gathering technologies, currently valued at just over $4 billion on Nasdaq.
