Former Mossad Chief Dedi Barnea Honored in Jerusalem Ceremony by Mayor Moshe Leon

Jerusalem Municipality held a farewell ceremony on Thursday honoring former Mossad chief Dedi Barnea. Mayor Moshe Leon expressed his gratitude to Barnea, recalling a meeting before the Iran war that left a strong impression and inspired the personal tribute. Barnea, who has four children, two present with his wife at the event and two serving in the military, accepted the honor humbly, emphasizing that the recognition belongs to all Mossad employees and highlighting the agency's close cooperation with the Israeli military.

In his remarks, Barnea reflected on Israel's security situation, stating that the country's strategic and security status has significantly improved since October 7. He noted that Hezbollah and Hamas have evolved into more dangerous organizations, and described Iran as a repressive regime that has suffered a severe blow. Barnea also stressed the global awakening to the Iranian issue, mentioning former U.S. President Donald Trump's understanding of the need to dismantle the Iranian regime through sanctions and other measures.

Barnea concluded by praising Jerusalem as a symbol of unity and tolerance, calling for a message of togetherness to emerge from the city. The event underscored the importance of national solidarity amid ongoing regional challenges.
